MCSAS Filming to End Violence against Women & Girls

Multi-Cultural Support Aid Services (MCSAS) is a running ‘Peckham & Nunhead United to end violence against Women and Girls’ filming will take place in a number of venues where women and girls can come and let their voices be heard.

Dates: 

  • 14 Sept – 12 Oct 2011 (every Weds) - Girls filming – at Central Venture Park, Kelly Ave, SE15 5LA                    
  • 15 Sept – 13 Oct 2011 (every Thurs) – Women’s filming – at different locations

Livesey Museum Expression of Interest

Southwark Council, as Trustee of the Livesey building in Southwark, is seeking expressions of interest from organisations for the viable long-term use of the building to benefit local communities. 

This includes broad educational, social, community or creative use, in keeping with the Trust’s charitable objectives.

Southwark Health and Community Services Innovation Fund

The Innovation Fund is a new one-off grant scheme that is provided and administered by Southwark Council’s Health and Community Services department.   One-off grants are available to local voluntary and community organisations for projects that enable older and disabled people to live independently and well within Southwark.

 Deadline:    5 Sept 2011
Grant:         £10,000 – £200,000

JAC Trust Sports and Arts Fund

JACT Fund is available for projects to fill gaps in provision for disadvantaged young people in London.  This is available for Charities, Community Interest Companies and Constituted community Groups – projects need to start no later than 28 February 2012

The aims of the programme are:

  • To use sports and arts to address the challenges faced by disadvantaged young people.
  • To build the aspirations and develop the life and employability skills of young People living in London
  •  To provide formal or informal accreditation or to engage the young people as part of a longer term accreditation programme. 
  • To provide and identify long term benefits to young people, including clear pathways into education, employment, training or a career and provide educational and personal development.
  • To include young people in the design and delivery of the project.

Peckham Settlement seeks a Volunteer Language Exchange Coordinator

The Settlement is running a language exchange programme with the intention of bringing people together who are interested in learning new languages.  We are looking for a volunteer to coordinate and undertake the administrative task of this programme.

The ideal candidate must have a interest in languages, be a good communicator and have strong administrative skills.

Community Outreach 2011-12 Grant Fund

Community Outreach Grant Fund are inviting applications from organisations wishing to develop their outreach activity, reach new audiences or communities.  Grants are available both for revenue and capital expenditure, with projects taking place between September 2011 and 31 March 2012.

The Home Office Choices Programme

The Home Office is inviting applications to the Choices programme, which is a £4 million programme aimed to tackle and prevent substance misuse and related offending - amongst young people aged 10 – 19. 

The programme aims to encourage national voluntary and community organisations to deliver targeted prevention and early intervention programmes.

 A partnership of the infrastructure organisations in Southwark will be submitting a bid for the national Transforming Local Infrastructure fund.
 
Infrastructure organisations are being asked adjust to difficult financial times by working together to rationalise and transform the support they provide.This support could be advice, resources or a service that you use regularly e.g. going to a networking meeting, getting advice on funding, training or recruiting volunteers.
 
We are keen to hear the views of members to understand what infrastructure support your organisation values and requires in the future.
