Young Southwark Works will be running a weekly drop in session for young people who would like to find full or part time work.

Community Outreach 2011-12 Grant Fund

Community Outreach Grant Fund are inviting applications from organisations wishing to develop their outreach activity, reach new audiences or communities.  Grants are available both for revenue and capital expenditure, with projects taking place between September 2011 and 31 March 2012.

The Home Office Choices Programme

The Home Office is inviting applications to the Choices programme, which is a £4 million programme aimed to tackle and prevent substance misuse and related offending - amongst young people aged 10 – 19. 

The programme aims to encourage national voluntary and community organisations to deliver targeted prevention and early intervention programmes.

Have your Say Infrastructure Survey

 A partnership of the infrastructure organisations in Southwark will be submitting a bid for the national Transforming Local Infrastructure fund.
 
Infrastructure organisations are being asked adjust to difficult financial times by working together to rationalise and transform the support they provide.This support could be advice, resources or a service that you use regularly e.g. going to a networking meeting, getting advice on funding, training or recruiting volunteers.
 
We are keen to hear the views of members to understand what infrastructure support your organisation values and requires in the future.

Little People’s World Summer Activity

Little Peoples World is organising a range of summer activities for children. The theme will be ’Inside & Outside with Nature’ it will include arts& crafts, messy play, story telling, dancing, kickboxing, etc.

Peckham Settlement launches SE Village

SE-Village exists so that you, your friends, and your neighbours can have fun doing what you’d like to do, and help to make the community a better place to be.

Website Development & Social Media Workshop

The workshop outline is as follows:

Peckham Voluntary Sector Forum (PVSF) is running a Website Development & Social Media workshop on Tuesday 6 December 2011 (10am – 1pm)  as part of its innovative Making Connections Marketing Project aimed at community and voluntary organisations.   Topics will include:

  • Website layout & web design software
  • Content – images, copy writing & story telling
  • Web hosting & domain names
  • Multi media – audio (podcasts), presentations & video
  • Social media marketing – using Facebook, Twitter, Blogs & YouTube etc
  • Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), online marketing, keywords
  • Online tools e.g. donations, statistics & advertising

Making Connections is a pioneering marketing communications project, that helps community groups and charitable organisations in Peckham and Nunhead promote the good work that they do.  This innovative project empowers organisations to implement low cost high impact marketing communications tools which will help to attract volunteers/trustees, raise funds, find potential partners, and increase the number of users of their services.
