Elephant & Castle Community Fund 2012

Lend Lease have established a new fund at The London Community Foundation (LCF) to support voluntary and community activities in the Elephant & Castle opportunity area. Funding (£250 – £5000 will support activities that make the Elephant and Castle a better place to live, work, rest and play.

  1. Further Education, Skill Building, Training & Entrepreneurship
  2. Ars & Culture
  3. Environment

Who Can Apply

Community groups, Registered Charities, Tenants Associations, Companies limited by guarantee, Social Enterprises or Community Interest Companies are all eligible to apply to the fund.

Closing Date

Friday 20 July – 12 noon

Xellorate Dance UK Free Classes

XellorateDance

Xellorate Dance UK is not just a dance class.  It is where you gain an experience not only in dance -  you will also be taught about healthy living.

We teach a range of dance styles from ballet to contemporary to hip-hop.

Youth Mental Health Training

South London and Maudsley’s Mental Health Promotion Team is running 2 Youth Mental Health First Aid Training (YMHFA) courses.

Do you work with young people? Are you a Community Group or Voluntary Sector organisation; non-mental health professional?

Then this is the course for you! It is a basic course for people with little or no training or experience in mental health.

YMHFA is a 12-hour, intensive, certificated course . The aim of the course is to help you support adolescents who are/might be developing a mental health problem or in a mental health crisis

Each course duration: 2 days      Times: 9.30am to 4.30pm

Course 1:

Date: 19th & 2oth July

Course 2:

Date: 24th & 25th July

Venue:  The Oasis Centre, 75 Westminister Rd, London SE1 7HS

New Domestic Abuse Service Launched

A new domestic abuse service delivered by Solace Women’s Aid in partnership with Southwark Council was launched in April 2012. Domestic abuse is physical, sexual, psychological or financial abuse which takes place within an intimate or family relationship.

The service provides confidential advice, advocacy and support to women and men aged 16 years and over who live in Southwark. Opening hours Monday to Friday between 9am and 6pm with an out of hours service .
