Help Peckhams First 3D BMX Movie!

Peckham BMX Club in 1 Way Up in 3D

Local legends Peckham BMX who PVSF helped with the “Room to Ride” campaign have an exciting year ahead of them.  The new full sized BMX track in Burgess Park is almost built and they are starring in the fast-paced documentary movie 1 Way Up in 3D.  The film was conceived by Charmain Falode and Amy Mathieson and has caught the attention of Oscar Winning non-profit company Shine Global in New York www.shineglobal.org who heard about the film and it’s vision to celebrate local youths who are often stereotyped negatively by the media.  The film has completed shooting using hi tech 3D cameras but it is not yet ready for cinema presentation and this is where we need your help!

PVSF are helping Shine Global and Jet Set Films to raise the final £30,000 needed to finish the sound and 3D colour grade so the film can be screened at cinemas.  TV companies are already in talks to show the film and many cinemas are also showing interest.  It is vital that the film gets finished and this strong positive story celebrating Peckham is seen and helps to inspire our youth.    Donations can be made by clicking on the box below and there are lots of exciting rewards on offer;

By donating through Kickstarter you’ll get to own the film on DVD or Blu-ray and also get a poster or signed photo and a chance to meet the team.

Watch this space as PVSF are teaming up with the film for an exciting outreach program running across the area with practical workshops about 3D filmmaking and BMX and exploring some of the issues in the film.

1 Way Up in 3D Trailer

One Way Up: The Story of Peckham BMX from Shine Global on Vimeo.

1 Way Up in 3D tells the story of two teens hoping to escape one of London’s toughest gang neighborhoods and race in the BMX World Championships – all captured in 3D!  On a spit of land between two tower blocks controlled by rival gangs is a tiny dirt track that defies the conventional image of Peckham, London, that is often negatively portrayed in the media.  This is the site of the Peckham BMX club, founded by former BMX racer and DJ, CK Flash. He believed that BMX was a way off the streets and within a few short years, Peckham BMX riders were on podiums around the country and meeting the Prime Minister.

1 Way Up in 3D also stars “London’s hottest rapper” Phreeda sharp and TV stars Mandem on the Wall who all make their 3D debuts. Talent shot

To make a cash donation please contact PVSF on 0207 358 9777 and for more information of the film contact Amy at jetsetfilms@gmail.com
