Community Builders Feasibilty Grant

Communitybuilders are inviting community organisations to apply for a Feasibility Grant.

Feasibility grants will be available for organisations looking to research and develop a sustainable and entrepreneurial idea that meets the social needs of their local community.

They are looking to award between 20 and 30 grants and up to 5 days business support to high quality applicants with a proven track record.

Grant: Maximum of £25,000 and minimum of £10,000.  

Deadline: 12 noon, 13th April 2012.

United St Saviour Small Grants Programme

The United St Saviour’s Charity Small Grants programme 2012/13 is now open for applications.

The aim of the programme is to provide support and opportunities to people in need, significantly improving their lives.      

Grant amount: Up to £5,000, but are often in the range £1,000 to £4,000.

Deadlines: Applications may be submitted at any time but will be considered at our Grants Committee meetings which are scheduled for  8 May  (deadline 30 April), and 18 September 2012 (deadline 31 August 2012).  

Your project must benefit people who live in North Southwark & Bermondsey (and surrounding areas – being those areas of postcodes SE1, SE5, SE11, SE15, SE16 and SE17).   This implies priority for applications benefitting North Southwark and Bermondsey.

Southwark’s Voluntary/Community Sector Transition/sustainability Fund

Southwark Council has established a sustainability fund for third sector organisations in Southwark, it is aimed to help organisations which deliver high quality public services adapt to a changing and challenging funding environment during a period when they are at risk from reductions in Southwark Council funding.

Grant:  up to £25,000

Grant Progamme Open For Youth Activities

Southwark Youth Commissioning and IAG department is inviting applications for grant funding to voluntary and community organisations whose provision is based in Southwark, to provide a programme for young Southwark residents aged 13-19.

The fund is for 2 service areas;

 1. Universal provision – open access youth provision for all young people in Southwark

 2. Targeted provision – projects and organisations working with young people with one of more of the following needs

  • special educational need or disability
  • NEET
  • criminal activity
  • teenage pregnancy
  • substance misuse

Funding is available for 11 months from May 2012 to March 2013

Grant: up to £75,000

Grant Scheme for Environment Projects

The Southwark EnviroGrant scheme is ready to receive applications for community projects who need funding and support.

This will be the second year that the scheme, established by Veolia Environmental Services will be offering funding opportunities. Each community project can apply for up to £1000.

Applicants can also apply for the support of Veolia volunteers, to help with labour, thanks to Veolia’s staff volunteering scheme, which allows every employee half a day per year to spend on a volunteering opportunity of their choosing.

Grant: Up to £1000

Deadline:  31 March 2012, awarded funds being allocated in June/July 2012.

Starbucks Youth Action Grant

Starbucks Youth Action provides grants to help young people aged 16-24 run community change projects in their local area in greater London.     Starbucks aims to  encourage and inspire a generation of young people to take action and create positive local change.

Grant:   up to £2,000
Deadline: 5 Mar 2012

This grant is available for seed funding, volunteering hours, training, project management, etc.

Lets Get Cooking

If you ae a community group working in Southwark, Let’s Get Cooking is offering £500 funding, training and resources to set up a cooking club for adults with mental health needs.

  Basic application criteria:

  •  Able to nominate two staff or volunteers from your group for  three-and-a-half days for training, (in February, March and October 2012).
  • Able to deliver  eight cooking club sessions with A group of adults who want and need to learn new cooking skills, develop their independent living skills with others in a friendly environment between April 2012 March 2013.

Grant: £500

Tesco Charity Trust Community Award Scheme

The Tesco Charity Trust Community Awards Scheme provides funding that will offer practical benefits, such as equipment and resources for projects directly benefiting children and young people ( including children with disabilities) living in local communities.  One off grants will be awarded to welfare and education projects.

NHS – Small Grants to Sexual Health Projects

Guys and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust’s Community Sexual Health Promotion Team aims to be at the forefront of innovation, providing a high quality service in promoting positive sexual health in Lambeth and Southwark.

Southwark Council – Community Support Programme 2012-13

Southwark’s Community Support Grants Programme  2012-13 is provided bySouthwark Council.  If you are a community or voluntary organisation based in Southwark that contributes to building mutual understanding and shared ways of working across different faiths, cultures and ethnic identities, then you may be entitled to apply.

There are three main priorities for funding:

  • Supporting Diverse Communities.
  • Specialist Capacity Building and Infrastructure Support
  • Area Based Community Development.

Each area of priority has its own criteria which can be found in the Commissioning Plan 2012/13 document.
