			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>As part of the Making Connections project I am pleased to invite you to an interactive 1-day course for organisations that need to prepare bids for funding.  As we all know, in these difficult times it is essential to make sure your grant application stands out from the rest!</p>
<p><strong>By the end of the workshop you will be able to:</strong></p>

<li>Use your knowledge of current policy to enhance your chances of securing funding</li>
<li>Identify key policies relevant to your work and where to find out more</li>
<li>Interpret commonly used funding jargon</li>
<li>Identify the most common errors which cause bids to fail</li>
<li>Explain the relevance of scoring and assessment criteria</li>
<li>Score funding bids</li>
<li>List some of the key funding regimes and sources of information</li>
<li>Recognise the significance of funding guidelines</li>
</ul>
<p><em>Note:  This is not primarily a course about where to get funding</em></p>

<li><a title="Grant Progamme Open For Youth Activities" href="http://www.peckhamforum.org.uk/2012/02/07/grant-progamme-open-for-youth-activities/" target="_blank">Southwark Youth Commissioning and IAG department is inviting applications </a>for grant funding to voluntary and community organisations whose provision is based in Southwark, to provide a programme for young Southwark residents aged 13-19.  Grant: £10,000-£50,000. Deadline: 1pm, Fri, 24 Feb 2012.</li>
<li><a title="Grant Scheme for Environment Projects" href="http://www.peckhamforum.org.uk/2012/02/07/grant-scheme-for-environment-projects/" target="_blank">The Southwark EnviroGrant scheme </a>is offering funding for community projects .  This will be the 2nd second year that Veolia Environmental Services has managed this funding opportunities. <li><a title="Sickle Cell Nutrition Workshop" href="http://www.peckhamforum.org.uk/2012/02/07/sickle-cell-nutrition-workshop/" target="_blank">Sickle Cell &amp; Young Stroke Survivors invites individuals who are affected by sickle cell to a Sickle Cell Nutrition workshop </a>which aims to help people with this condition gain improved knowledge about  eating healthier .  Date: 16 Feb 2012.  Time: 11am &#8211; 3pm</li>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Southwark Youth Commissioning and IAG department is inviting applications for grant funding to voluntary and community organisations whose provision is based in Southwark, to provide a programme for young Southwark residents aged 13-19.</p>
<p>The fund is for 2 service areas;</p>
<p> 1. Universal provision &#8211; open access youth provision for all young people in Southwark</p>
<p> 2. Targeted provision &#8211; projects and organisations working with young people with one of more of the following needs</p>
<ul>
<li>special educational need or disability</li>
<li>NEET</li>
<li>criminal activity</li>
<li>teenage pregnancy</li>
<li>substance misuse</li>
</ul>
<p>Funding is available for 11 months from May 2012 to March 2013</p>
<p><strong>Grant:</strong> up to £75,000<br />
<strong>Closing Date:</strong> 1pm Friday 24th February 2012.</p>
