Management

PVSF is managed by a Board of Trustees, each Trustee covering a different voluntary sector activity area (e.g. training, services to children, health projects, youth activities, refugee groups, services to the disabled, community centres).

There are currently 8 Trustees on the PVSF Board,. At every Annual General Meeting (AGM) one half of the elected Trustees stand down (those who have served longest). Member organisations are invited to nominate someone of their choice (a staff member or volunteer) to represent their area of voluntary sector activities on the Board, if vacant. All nominees are democratically elected or re-elected to act as both representatives and Trustees for a minimum period of one year (one vote per organisation).

The Board of Trustees elects its Executives (Chair, Vice-chair, Secretary and Treasurer) from among its members. 4-8 Board meetings are held per year, with additional sub-committees attending to specific management issues and preparing recommendations to the Board for decisions.
